Why we started
Everything you need to know, before you order
Larkelle started in the autumn of 2026 with a simple idea: buying something warm online should not feel like a gamble.
Too often the surprises come after you have paid. The fabric is not what you pictured, the size is off, the parcel takes longer than you expected, or sending something back turns out to be complicated.
So we put the facts first: what a piece is made of and how it fits on the product page, and how long delivery takes and what a return costs in our policies. Then you can choose with your eyes open.
The name
Up with the lark
A skylark rises while it is still dark and sings before the sun is up. That is where our name comes from.
We liked the idea of being warm and ready before the day starts, rather than rushing to catch up with it. On a grey January morning, the right layer helps with that.

How we work
Picked for a real British winter
We choose every piece in the shop ourselves and write our own descriptions, in plain words. Before something goes online, we check the composition, the measurements and the photos.
We keep to the colder half of the year: knitwear and cardigans to layer, coats and jackets, pyjamas for the evenings, and boots, socks, scarves and hat and glove sets to finish.
